Can CBD Products Help Treat My MS?

The benefits of CBD have been discussed at length in the medical and scientific world for years. Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is a phytocannabinoid found in 1940. It is the most prevalent of all known cannabis plant's extracts and constitutes up to 40 % of the total plant's mass. While it is not yet approved by the FDA to sell medical marijuana or CBD products, many people from across the globe believe in its health benefits and have started to grow, harvest and sell it as an alternative medicine.

What is CBD? Cannabidiol or CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiolipropane. This is the name given to cannabidiol, the primary chemical in which the cannabis plant's phytocannabinoids are converted into THC or tetrahydrocannabinol. The chemical is believed to be less dangerous than tetrahydrocannabinols (tetrahydrocannabinol) since CBD does not produce the same euphoric, sedative, anxiety and memory impairments that THC does.

What are the side effects of CBD? On paper at least, there aren't any serious side effects of CBD. However, many doctors believe that it may not be the best choice for patients suffering from epilepsy, particularly if other treatments are already in place and CBD can be absorbed through the skin into the blood stream where it may act in a different way. If CBD is used in combination with an anticonvulsant such as Lyrica or Tegretol, the risk of side effects may increase. Therefore, before deciding on CBD as an epilepsy treatment, you should discuss it carefully with your neurologist or other doctor specializing in treating epilepsy.

Does CBD alleviate the symptoms of anxiety and epilepsy? Many medical trials have looked at the effect of CBD on anxiety, depression, panic, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and other anxiety disorders. It appears to be effective, but as a rule of thumb, you should consult with your medical care provider and not rely on results of a trial. In general, people with pre epilepsy seem to respond more favorably to treatment with CBD Oil than those with post epilepsy, so it might be worth trying it.

Is CBD safe for use in my cancer treatment? Before recommending CBD as an anti-cancer treatment, your doctor will want to do a thorough evaluation of your health. Some studies have shown that CBD may help reduce the negative effects of chemotherapy. However, as with any type of medication, CBD may help some people while not helping others, and the majority of people should avoid CBD when taking any type of medication.

Are there other benefits of CBD? Learn more here on how CBD alone can cure or prevent cancer, it has been shown to reduce the symptoms of multiple sclerosis and improve memory and concentration in certain people. In addition, CBD may help to slow or even stop the progression of multiple sclerosis. For people who have recently been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, CBD may also provide some short-term pain relief. Given these potential benefits of CBD, the use of CBD for treating MS is still relatively unknown, and research is ongoing.
